Frequently asked questions about I.C. SPOTS
Is
I.C. SPOTS Safe?
Although intended for canine consumption, I.C. Spots are made with ingredients
that are certified for human consumption. The product complies with
the same rigorous quality standards as any other ice cream treat. Therefore,
the product is safe if accidentally consumed by an adult or child.
Does
I.C. SPOTS contain meat?
I.C. Spots contain no meat, only a savory beef flavor made from yeast.
How often can I give I.C. SPOTS to my dog?
Will it make my dog fat?
One I.C. Spots cup has about the same nutrient content (fat, calories,
vitamins & minerals) as ½ (one-half) cup of standard dry
dog food. Although not intended as a meal replacement, I.C. Spots can
be fed daily as a treat. Dog owners should be aware of the dog's daily
fat and caloric intake and adjust either food or exercise accordingly
to help maintain the dog's desired weight.
My
dog's bowel movements changed after eating I.C. SPOTS. Why?
I.C. Spots has been specially formulated to be easily digested. I.C.
Spots should not adversely affect your dog's bowel movement habits or
fecal material appearance. Dogs commonly ingest things (grass, foreign
material) that may lead to gastroenteritis. If the problem persists,
seek the advice of your Veterinarian.
What
is Glucosamine? Is it safe for my dog?
Glucosamine is a dietary supplement. Current research shows it may play
a role in relieving the pain of osteoarthritis. The chemical is an acceptable
treatment in veterinary medicine, but the Arthritis Foundation and the
American College of Rheumatology have not recommended it for humans.
The Food and Drug Administration has not approved it to treat arthritis.
At this time, glucosamine is sold as a nutritional supplement, and therefore
does not need evidence that it is safe and effective.
Can
my dog eat the plastic cup or lid? What will happen?
Just like with humans, the plastic cup and lid are not intended to be
consumed by the dog. If the cup is placed on the floor, the dog should
be supervised and the cup immediately picked up after the treat has
been eaten. If the dog consumes the cup or lid, contact your Veterinarian.
